Job Scope:
- Support the development and execution of sourcing strategies for the products.
- Lead supplier identification/ selection/ segmentation process;
- Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of industry practices/ capabilities and market intelligence that captures expertise / best practices and leverage the expertise to deliver incremental cost reduction and drive significant client business value;
- Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement, analyse market drivers, cost structures and support supplier initiatives, including annual cost reductions;
- Deliver cost reduction goals and provide strong support to the stakeholders.
- Develop Category management strategies;
- To check the daily open Purchase Requisition;
- To source for vendors and get a quotation for open Purchase Requisition (for new or existing material code) and info to pass to Junior for PIR, SL and PO creation;
- To liaise with the mater data officer and engineers for any old stock code with insufficient info/ no purchase history;
- To liaise with the vendor for any changes to spec details, obsolescence of products and urgent delivery requests;
- To source alternative vendors for urgent delivery requests and stock supply;
- Liaise and coordinate with the agent for any overseas delivery arrangement, paperwork, permit application, etc.
- Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the immediate superior.
Pre-requisites:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement;
- Possess at least a Diploma, preferably in Business Administration, International Trade & Business, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or any Technical Field;
- Proficient in Excel (Intermediate – Advanced level), Word, PowerPoint, Sand AP knowledge;
- A certificate or associate degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field will be an added advantage.
